The Shoot – Brickoven was asked to come up with an idea for a promotional video for the swimming event. We started by researching the community around open water swimming, eventually coming up with the idea of following a small cast experiencing the open swim, combined with footage captured at one of the swimming events. By a stroke of luck, we scheduled the filming on the hottest day of the year so far. This allowed us to capture tonnes of gorgeous summery vibes, which gave way to a classic mid-summer golden hour so it was the perfect setting for an swim event advert.
When it came to the edit, sharp and punchy is what we felt would work best. Our chosen piece of music influenced the pace of the edit. Once the tempo was set, we were able to pick out the most captivating footage of the swim, and our small narrative rippled nicely through it all.
