Wes Roskell
From the roar of live tours to the quiet hum of studio sessions, a fierce love for music led Wes from performing to capturing sound. Cutting his teeth on film scores, TV, and games, his path wound through podcasting with voices like Steven Bartlett, before the urge to tell stories through film took hold. Now at BRICKOVEN, shaping content from spark to screen, he’s found the creative rhythm he was always chasing.
Oli Bates
Starting out in indie film and videography, driven by a love for storytelling and crafting narratives, his journey took a turn into the world of VFX. For six years, he brought stories to life behind the screen for ITV, BBC, and Disney. But the pull of the set, the energy of live production, proved too strong. Stepping out from behind the desk and back into the heart of the action, he returned to where the story begins — behind the camera.
BRICKOVEN's Origin Story
Wes and Oli met while studying at Futureworks University, where a shared passion for storytelling sparked a lasting friendship. After graduating, they stayed in touch as Wes carved out a path in podcasting at DIAL Global. When the team looked to bring their audio to life with video, Wes knew exactly who to call. The timing was perfect—Oli was ready to return to production. Together, they travelled the country, filming high-profile CEOs and thought leaders. Before long, they realised their creative visions aligned far beyond client work. So they took the leap, founded BRICKOVEN Video—and the rest is history.
