Where do we start? 2022 was probably the most exciting year yet for BRICKOVEN. We worked hard with our amazing clients (new and continuing), shot a commercial abroad in sunny Spain, (which ended up airing on Video on Demand), landed our first retainer YouTube client and one of our founders Wes welcomed his first baby into the world…awww. 

First of all, we want to thank all of the fantastic crew and staff we’ve worked with over the past year, we couldn’t have done it without you and all of your hard work! We’ve been fortunate to have some serious talent beside us and now can’t wait to get you all back on set again to make more memories and shed a few more tears of laughter. Special shout out to the fellowship. 


This stands out as our biggest project to date – so much so that we’re going to release it as a separate blog/ case study on the website as some projects are worth shouting about. 

James Villas sought a production company to gently shift the focus of their brand towards a more younger generation, a refresher campaign if you will. After a batch of get-to-knows and pre-production meetings, it was agreed that a suite of YouTube adverts and a social media asset pack (containing a media library of content for social posts throughout 2023) would be exactly what the company was after. The project went so well that they ended up using one of the 30-second advert edits on video-on-demand services. This was shown on BBC iPlayer, ITVX, and SKY on demand. We met Kev in late 2021 (he was one of the exciting projects we teased in our 2021 wrap up). He runs the very successful UK Coffee Blog and had started a YouTube channel in 2020 which, was also turning out to be quite successful. His goal was to take his videos to the next level and to turbocharge his channel.

Firstly, we worked with him to help create his new YouTube space (seen below) and now co-produce, film and edit all his YouTube content. 

We LOVE working with Kev (not just because he plies us with amazing free coffees on shoot days) and can’t wait to film some of the exciting videos we have planned for his channel for 2023, if you want to follow pop over and subscribe here,

Definitely a channel for the coffee lovers. 

Since coming on board in September of 2022 and with our first video releasing October 5th, we’ve boosted the CoffeeKev channel in terms of viewership (over 100k+ so far on videos we produced alone) and YouTube revenue and he’s gained 6,500 subscribers. As with James Villas, we will be writing a full blog just dedicated to Kev and The CoffeeKev channel soon, so we can deep dive into stats and what it takes to produce successful weekly content for a YouTube channel. Oh, and we also made it into a magazine feature too! Find that here.

New BRICKOVEN member

Finally, the part you’ve all been waiting for our newest member of the team (sorry Lauren you’re old news) Rufus, Wes’s lovely firstborn. Coming into the world on December 15th, Wes is already training his replacement and making sure he has an appreciation for good music and excellent audio gear.
