It’s been an up and down battle with the Adobe Creative Cloud (Mainly Premiere Pro and After Effects) and after a 7-year relationship, we have decided to part ways. Amicably, we may add.

The point of no return came after our previous two deadlines, in which we encountered a few serious render errors, the infamous lumetri bug (See video below), and severe slowdowns. If it wasn’t for the team working above and beyond to find fixes for these issues then we could have landed ourselves in a sticky situation. Our solution? To simply move on and try something new.

After a little research, combined with our love for the Blackmagic brand, we decided it was a no-brainer to give their flagship editing software DaVinci Resolve a shot.

Over the next few months, we’re going to document this bold move, our struggles, our successes, and eventually creating a pros and cons blog for both pieces of software. We’re really excited to take the plunge, taking advantage of our start-up situation in which we are small enough to do so. We understand this software move just isn’t as easy or even possible for many of the larger companies in the tv and film industry and we hope that our findings will help businesses big and small.

If you want to follow along with our little software adventure then give us a follow on Twitter. We’ll be posting all of our blogs, head-scratching, and moments of success on there.

Had issues with the same bugs we had? Leave us a comment, and let us know about your experience.
